U.S. News & World Report has released its 2018 ranking of the nation’s “best colleges” and Bowling Green State University made the list.

BGSU was named No. 109 for best public universities in a tie with the University of Massachusetts-Boston, University of Nevada-Reno and California State University-Fullerton.

BGSU came in at No. 202 in the best “national universities” category. For the No. 202 spot, the university tied with the University of Massachusetts-Boston, University of Nevada-Reno, California State University-Fullerton and Dallas Baptist University, according to U.S. News.

The business programs at BGSU were ranked No. 183 while the university was ranked No. 177 overall by high school counselors.

Around 1,388 schools are included in the ranking, according to U.S. News.

U.S. News surveyed more than 1,275 schools for statistical data used to determine the rankings and some additionally needed data was obtained through the National Center for Education Statistics.

Information on financial resources, faculty, SAT and ACT scores, acceptance rates, six-year graduation rates and first-year retention rates were all considered, according to U.S. News.
