Church’s Chicken has closed two Dayton restaurants, but three other locations remain open and operating business as usual, the chicken chain’s district manager told this news outlet this morning.

“There are no plans to shut down the other three” locations, Church’s Chicken District Manager Delmar Walker said today, Dec. 30. All of the employees of the closed restaurants were able to transfer to the three other locations that remain open, Walker said.

The two restaurants that were shut down last week were:

• 529 N. Broadway St. in Dayton

• 2131 W. Third St. in Dayton

The locations that remain open are:

• 1113 N. Gettysburg Ave., Dayton

• 2443 N. Gettysburg Ave., Dayton

• 5711 N. Dixie Drive in Harrison Twp.

Walker said he could not discuss reasons behind the closings, which come at a time when several other chicken restaurant chains, including Popeyes, are gearing up to expand their Dayton-area footprint.
