2 ejected from motorcycle during crash in Darke County

UPDATE @ 2:30 a.m. (Sept. 2):

A motorcycle driver and her passenger, both Greenville residents, were ejected in the single-vehicle crash that happened around 7:40 p.m. in the 3900 block of U.S. 127, according to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.

Hunter Smith, 24, was the driver and Cody Schaar, 28, was her passenger; both were taken to Miami Valley Hospital, where there conditions were not known. However, a deputy said late Sunday both were in the emergency room.

Smith was wearing a helmet but Schaar was not, the release said.

The accident remains under investigation.

U.S. 127 is closed near the 3900 block following a motorcycle crash, according to Darke County dispatch.
