UPDATE @ 5:17 a.m.:
A fire that originated inside Miami Valley Polishing has now been put out, the Piqua Fire Department confirmed.
It took crews more than two hours to knock out the fire due to ventilation challenges, Assistant Chief Chad Kennedy said.
The cause may have been electrical, or due to metal dust, Kennedy said.
The exact location of where the fire originated is under investigation.
Crews were dispatched at approximately 2:39 a.m. after reports of heavy smoke were seen outside the building.
No one was injured.
FIRST REPORT:
We are hearing reports of a possible electrical fire inside Miami Valley Polishing at 170 Fox Drive.
Fire crews were dispatched to the location at approximately 2:39 a.m.
Power has possibly been shut off inside the building.
It is unknown at this time if anyone has been evacuated.
