Darke County woman accused of assault

A 39-year-old New Madison woman was taken to jail and detained on a charge of felonious assault stemming from an incident that left a man with a wound to his groin, the Darke County Sheriff's Office said.

Teresa Mclear was taken into custody from the 100 block of Harrison Street on Sunday night after the victim told deputies his girlfriend stabbed him in the groin with an unknown object.

The victim was taken to Wayne Healthcare, suffering from minor injuries, according to the sheriff's office.

Mclear was not listed as an inmate Monday night when this news organization checked the Darke County Jail online roster of persons in custody.
