“The board unanimously feels that Scott has done an excellent job in the district, and we believe it is important to keep consistency throughout the years here, and this contract does that for us,” school board President Jennifer Kane said.
Kane declined to offer details of the new contract, and Treasurer Dan Schall said the contract document will be available Wednesday.

Inskeep said the board did increase his compensation slightly in the new deal after looking how his contract compared to other local superintendents. Given his 2017-18 base salary and raises listed in the contract, Inskeep was set to make at least $150,000 this year.
“This is my town and I love it here,” said Inskeep, who came to Kettering in 2014. “I was humbled to even be considered for that other position, but I felt like the board of education really wanted me to stay here. I appreciate that and I felt like I needed to honor that. I’ve taken my name out of the running for the Columbus position, I’m here till 2023, and I’m excited to do it.”

Kane said the school board had been working on Inskeep’s performance review in recent months. The district has several major ongoing issues — a 5.99-mill operating levy on the November ballot, continued updating and changing of facilities as a result of a 2016 levy passage, and a strategic planning process aimed at updating academic offerings for years to come.
