Caravan for military heroes on I-75 for ‘Warrior Weekend’ goes smoothly

UPDATE @ 7:13 p.m. July 11: The caravan along I-75 North, from Miami Twp. to downtown Dayton to celebrate military veterans during Warrior Weekend, was successful.

INITIAL REPORT (July 10)

The Miami Twp. Police Department is asking motorists to use extra caution during a Jeep parade caravan honoring military heroes on Thursday evening.

The Austin Landing Community is hosting Warrior Weekend from Thursday to Sunday. Military heroes and their families will gather for four days of activities that include the Jeep parade.

The caravan will travel from Hilton Garden Inn at Austin Landing to Fifth Third Field for a Dayton Dragons game via I-75 North.

Area law enforcement agencies will be slowing traffic and shutting down one lane of northbound I-75 from approximately 5:45 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
