Crews respond to semi-truck engulfed in flames on I-70 in Preble County

UPDATE 8/24/18 @ 1:40 a.m: The right lane on westbound I-70 in Preble County has reopened and the scene has cleared following a semi-truck fire late Thursday, the Ohio State Highway Patrol confirms.

Crews responded to the Ohio-Indiana border on a semi fully engulfed in flames just before 11 p.m., per initial reports.

Details on the fire’s start or reported injuries were not immediately available.

UPDATE @ 11:20 p.m.:

The Ohio State Highway Patrol has confirmed the right lane of WB I-70 is shut down.

Fire crews are on scene.

FIRST REPORT:

A semi-truck is fully engulfed in flames on I-70 westbound near mile marker one, Preble County Regional Dispatch confirmed.

The fire was reported at approximately 10:56 p.m.

It is unknown at this time what caused the fire or if anyone has been injured.
