The Ohio State Highway Patrol assisted with a pursuit around 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning, which ended up being connected to a homicide investigation in Trotwood.

The Miamisburg Police Department was the agency to spot a 2001 Mercury GMQ that was believed to be driven by two Trotwood homicide suspects.

The pursuit lasted many miles at a high rate of speed and ultimately ended when the car crashed into a median on Interstate 75 south at exit 1A.

During the pursuit, Troopers were able to deploy stop sticks to deflate the suspect’s tires. However, the car continued to travel and suspects were seen throwing items from the vehicle in the process.

“Both suspects were taken into custody without incident and sustained non-life threatening injuries as a result of the crash,” according to a release.

Miamisburg Police Department, Miami Twp. Police Department, Dayton Police Department, Cincinnati Police Department, and The Ohio State Highway Patrol aviation assisted in the investigation.

Trotwood police continue to investigate the homicide as well.
