Troy’s first PorchFest expected to become an annual event

Troy held its first PorchFest this afternoon along the streets of the Southwest Historic District.

Music echoed for nearly six hours as 36 live local bands performed on 27 front porches.

The idea of a PorchFest started in 2007 in Ithaca, New York, and has since become a national movement as they are popping up all over the country.

Today’s event was declared an overwhelming success as people were able to walk from one home to another while listening to the music.

PorchFest is expected to become an annual event in Troy.
