Butler Co. Man Hit, Killed By Train

A Hamilton man found dead near railroad tracks at 6:30 a.m. Sunday was hit by a train, the Butler County Sheriff's Office said.

The body of Michael W. Vowell, 45, was spotted by a train traveling just east of Hamilton Eaton Road. The railroad crossing at 2318 Hamilton Eaton Road was shutdown for about two and a half hours while the Butler County Sheriff's and Coroner's Offices investigated.

Crews determined that Vowell was not struck by the train that reported the incident.

The incident is still under investigation by the Butler County sheriff's and coroner's Offices.
