Doors will open to the public at 10 a.m. following a ribbon-cutting ceremony, with the “ribbon being cut by an arrow shot from a bow by a local Cabela’s employee,” the company said in an earlier release.
On opening, it will become Cabela’s third retail site in Ohio, joining the Columbus store opened in 2013 and the West Chester Twp. location opened in 2015.
The store is designed to offer an immersive outdoor experience with wood construction, stonework, a mountain replica, dozens of wildlife displays and museum-quality taxidermy mounts, vintage outdoor photos and memorabilia, hand-painted murals, an aquarium and an indoor archery range.
Additionally, it will include an express cafe, Gun Library and Bargain Cave.
Cabela’s has hired about 130 full-time, part-time and seasonal employees to staff the store, most coming from Centerville and the area, the business said. Throughout the year, the staff will host educational seminars and demonstrations, offering tips and insights on outdoor products and seasonal activities.
Cabela’s Inc. calls itself “the world’s foremost outfitter of hunting, fishing and outdoor gear.”
Founders Dick and Mary Cabela started the chain in 1961.
