Centerville residents could be voting on a number of issues this year, as city council may add several charter amendments to the ballot in November.

According to a letter from the Charter Review Commission sent to council members, some of the recommended changes include addressing the potential absences of both the mayor and deputy mayor and a new section that would allow council to make “non-substantive” revisions to the charter in the future.

City Manager Greg Horn said other possible changes could include housekeeping details like changing charter language to include more gender-inclusive terms.

Clerk of council Carin Andrews said “council has yet to decide the issues that they will consider putting on the ballot in November,” and will discuss these issues at upcoming work sessions.
