If approved Nov. 6, the issue would continue to cost the owner of a home valued at $100,000 about $150 a year and would generate about $2.9 million a year, according to the Montgomery County Auditor’s Office.

The levy, approved five years ago by more than 55 percent of voters, is one of two township levies that fund police operations. It is used to pay for general services, including salaries, equipment and maintenance, officials said.
The funds “allow our officers to continue with prompt service, using reliable tools to deter crime and keep our neighborhoods safe,” according to Police Chief Ron Hess.
