Cincinnati housing authority accused of discrimination

CINCINNATI, Ohio -- A newspaper says a report by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development alleges Cincinnati's public housing authority discriminated against minorities in how it dealt with tenants and searched for a top executive.
The Cincinnati Enquirer says HUD officials plan to release the report next week and would not comment for the newspaper's Saturday story.
The Cincinnati Metropolitan Housing Authority offers subsidized housing to 16,000 poor Hamilton County families and has a yearly budget of $100 million. The newspaper reports the findings could force the housing authority to make changes or risk the loss of tens of millions of dollars in federal aid.
Housing authority officials say they've made many changes sought by investigators, and they don't expect federal officials to take drastic actions.
