After a cold front pushes through the area overnight, we will see a cool and windy day, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

The NWS said that today we will start out partly cloudy, though skies will clear as the day continues. Highs will only reach up to 43 degrees, though wind gusts of up to 25 mph will cause a wind chill pushing how temperatures feel down by as much as 10 degrees.

Tonight, the NWS said that high pressure will build in the area as winds calm and temperatures plummet. The result is a calm, clear and very cold night, with lows of around 21 degrees.

During the day on Wednesday, we will continue to see high pressure creating clear skies and highs near 47 degrees.

Winds will begin to pick up slightly Wednesday night, though temperatures won’t fall as far with lows around 35 degrees.

Thursday will be windy again but much warmer, with highs rising to around 62 degrees. Wind gusts in the late morning and early afternoon are expected to be as strong as 31 mph.

There will be some clouds throughout the day with more developing in the afternoon, but for most of the day conditions will be mostly sunny.

Thursday night will be much the same, with mostly clear skies and lows around 44 degrees. Winds are expected to slowly weaken as the night goes on.
