Some courses reopened then. Dayton chose not to open the courses — Madden, Community and Kittyhawk.
However, this week Gov. Mike DeWine unveiled his Responsible Restart Ohio Plan, which outlines the protocols needed to operate safely.
After evaluation, city officials decided again the golf centers do not have the resources to fully meet those safe standards needed to reduce the spread of the coronavirus by actively monitoring/managing social distancing mandates.
The city also noted that disinfectant cleaning supplies have been prioritized for front-line city operations.
The Division of Golf will continue to evaluate the courses as resources become available and as mandates are adjusted.
