Food vendors are permitted but must follow guidelines put forth for restaurants, such as employees wearing masks and ensuring both staff and patrons follow social distance guidelines. While masks are not required for patrons, the state recommends them.
Fair boards will work with local health and fire officials to determine building capacity. While advance tickets and cashless transactions are not required, the regulations encourage fairs to implement them.
Two local counties, Montgomery and Butler, already have voted to cancel this year’s fairs. Other counties, including Champaign, Darke and Clark, have said they were waiting to make a decision about how to proceed.
