>> MIAMI VALLEY TORNADOES: What you need to know today
CMGO Market Vice President and General Manager Rob Rohr said, “So many people in the community and our employees have reached out to us and asked how they can get involved and we wanted to help them. So our first mission was to promote all of the amazing work being done by organizations like the Red Cross, The Foodbank, the United Way, and literally dozens of businesses, churches and other community organizations and give our audience links to join in and lend support. Then we quickly asked ourselves – what’s missing and how can we help fill that gap?”
Nick Roberts, Vice President of Marketing for Cox Media Group said, “We jumped on the phone with our community partners and we heard that access to food in these neighborhoods is one of the larger concerns. And that this need will grow as the weeks progress.”
Roberts explained that The Foodbank has its mobile farmer’s market, which can quickly distribute necessary supplies in an impacted neighborhood. Lee Truesdale at The Foodbank said that food needs in these areas could linger for weeks and months, so supporting these kind of efforts long-term go a long way.
We are on a goal to help fund at least 8 of these mobile farmer’s markets that will provide free food to our neighbors in need reaching as many impacted areas as we can.
