Hodges also noticed that a window was broken out on a door to the garage, and the suspect — identified as 31-year-old William J. Sparks Jr. of Piqua — dropped the items when he saw the deputy, according to a release from Sheriff Dave Duchak.
The owner said that Sparks did not have permission to be in the garage and wanted to pursue charges.
Sparks was arrested and booked into the Miami County Jail on suspicion of breaking and entering. He also has a probation violation warrant out of Miami County Municipal Court, the release stated.
