Alleged hit/run driver caught in field

Police in Dayton said a motorist accused of crashing into a van and then fleeing was found sitting in his car in a field of high weeds.

Musa Sharangabo, 36, was arrested on suspicion of failure to control, no driver’s license, failure to stop at a crash and because of a noncompliance suspension, according to the Dayton police report.

While responding to a hit-and-run early Saturday morning on Valley Street, officers got a report of the possible suspect vehicle being parked in a field on Compton Street, according to the report.

Police said they found the suspect sitting in the driver’s side, apparently asleep, in a Pontiac Grand Am parked in a field of high weeds.

The suspect did not comply with the officers’ commands and resisted his arrest, according to the report.
