FIRST REPORT

Dayton police are working to determine what led to a shooting behind Roosters restaurant that left one man dead and another wounded.

The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office identified the fatal victim as Leo Montgomery, 21.

Two victims were brought to Good Samaritan Hospital from the shooting, which happened just before 5:30 p.m. Friday in the parking lot of the restaurant, location in the 3500 block of North Main Street.

A security guard who asked not to be identified said the shooting happened at the rear of the parking lot behind the business and that neither involved were restaurant patrons.

He said a male got out of one car and into the other car, and then there were multiple shots fired inside the cars. Both cars were driven away, the guard said.

An autopsy was conducted Sunday and revealed Montgomery died of multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.
