Jessica Taylor appeared in court Thursday, when she pleaded not guilty to attempted murder and other charges in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court.
On Feb. 14, medics were called to Miami Twp. home after a relative said Taylor was in pain and bleeding.
Prosecutors said the paramedics found the infant crying, tied up in a trash bag that was inside a garbage can.
The baby survived and is now 6 months old, but spent nearly two weeks in the hospital.

That’s what prosecutor’s accuse 39-year-old Jessica Taylor of doing this past Valentine’s Day. She was jailed this weekend following her indictment on multiple charges, including attempted murder.
Police learned of the problem when dispatchers received a 911 call on Feb. 14 from Loxley Drive in Miami Twp.
“There’s blood everywhere,” a family member said. “There’s an excessive amount of blood.”
“Do you know what happened” the 911 dispatcher asked.
“She was crying out like she was in pain,” the family member said.

“She won’t tell you what happened, is that right?”
“Yes,” the family member said.
Prosecutors said paramedics discovered Taylor badly bleeding in the home.
While in the house, medics also “heard a baby crying and located a newborn infant, tied up in a trash bag, inside a bathroom garbage can.”

Prosecutors said the child survived, but required a long hospital stay, 13 days in all. Reports did not indicate whether the baby was a boy or girl.
However, the baby is under the protective supervision of Montgomery County Children Services and a third party has temporary custody of the now 6-month-old infant.
