The man found dead on the bank of the Little Miami River on Tuesday has been identified as Anthony Bowman, 42, of Morrow.

Bowman was found near the end of Mill Street on the bank of the river in downtown Morrow.

“We do not suspect foul play,”said Doyle Burke, chief investigator for the Warren County Coroner’s Office.

No ruling has been made on the cause of death, pending toxicology results, Burke said Tuesday afternoon.

Bowman had minor injuries, but none that would explain his death, Burke said.

“It could be an overdose. It could be he was intoxicated to the point he was unconscious, and it was hypothermia,” he said.

Bowman’s body was found, legs in the water, but Burke said this could have occurred after he became unconscious, as the river rose during overnight rains.

“He did frequent that area,” Burke said.

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office and Ohio Department of Natural Resources, along with the Morrow Police Department, are investigating, Burke said.

The body was noticed by a kayaker and located this morning after a search about 9:30 a.m.

The coroner’s office took custody of the body at the Morrow Police Department, near the river and multi-use trail in downtown Morrow.
