Bomb Squad called to Piqua Post Office

A suspicious package was deemed no threat after postal employees discovered something that was out of sorts.

Piqua Police were sent to the Piqua Post Office at 220 North Wayne Street on a report of a suspicious package.

Upon arrival, employees informed officers the package was located while unloading a postal vehicle. Piqua Police Lt. Jason Preston said the package was described as a brown box with no postage, mailing address or return address.

The Dayton Bomb Squad was requested to the scene and removed the package to a secured area behind the Post office and checked.

The contents of the package was not released, and the incident is under investigation.
