Coroner IDs couple found dead in Fountain City

UPDATE @ 5:45 p.m.

The Wayne County, Indiana, coroner identified the couple found dead this morning in their Fountain City home as Shawn and Susan Tomlinson, who were in their early 50s. The coroner said autopsy results will be final in six to eight weeks.

UPDATE @ 12:24 p.m.

A man and his wife were found dead in a Fountain City, Ind. home after the county emergency dispatch center got a call from someone out-of-state, according to a release from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

The 9-1-1 caller reported at 7:24 a.m. this morning that a male relative had just shot his wife and is threatening to kill himself, according to the release.

SWAT officers and negotiators were dispatched to the home and efforts were made to contact the occupants, but there was no response.

the sheriff’s office said SWAT officers entered the home and discovered the two bodies.

Identities have not been released pending notification of family.

Further details about the investigation were not released.

We’re working to learn more about an investigation into the deaths of two people this morning in Fountain City, Ind.

Wayne County, Ind., Sheriff Jeff Cappa and other high-ranking deputies are on scene in the 300 block of North Walnut Street in the city, which is located a few miles north of Richmond, Ind.

The Palladium Item reports Cappa has confirmed that SWAT officers found a male and female dead in the home.
