Coroner rules weekend Dayton shooting death a homicide

The shooting death of a 22-year-old man over the weekend in Dayton has been ruled a homicide, according to the Montgomery County Coroner Kent Harshbarger.

Shareef Tillman died from a gunshot wound to the torso, according to the coroner’s office.

The incident was reported around 10:30 p.m. in the 600 block of Summit Square Drive.

Emergency dispatchers received multiple 911 calls about the shooting.

“Summit Square Drive. A young man just got shot,” a woman told dispatchers. “The person is laying down. He’s lifeless.”

Dayton police are continuing to investigate the incident.
