The woman involved in the traffic accident with Sams, 65-year-old Virginia Steinhauser, of Brookville, died in February of complications related to the crash, the prosecutor’s office said. Sams is now charged with aggravated vehicular homicide.

“This defendant was driving even though his license was under multiple suspensions,” Montgomery County Prosecutor Mat Heck Jr. said. “In addition, he was under the influence of drugs at the time of the crash. He caused the senseless and preventable death of the victim by his reckless and irresponsible actions.”
