In September 2018, a Clark County Sheriff’s deputy was approaching Taylor’s vehicle in a Springfield motel parking lot for a traffic stop when they noticed Taylor was trying to a firearm, according to the DOJ.
During a search of the vehicle, the deputy found a pistol with a fill magazine, marijuana, scales and $2,600.
The motel room where Taylor was living in was also searched, revealing a pistol with two magazines, fentanyl, body armor, marijuana and more than $2,600.

Taylor was previously convicted of possession of drugs in Montgomery County and felonious assault in Clark County, according to the DOJ.
The case was prosecuted as part of Project Safe Neighborhoods, which is part of the DOJ’s effort to reduce violent crimes.
