Dayton man who opened fire on Anna Street, possessed stolen firearm, sentenced to 78 months in prison

Bruce Long, 49, of Dayton was sentenced to 78 months in prison for possessing a firearm after being convicted of felony offenses.

On Sept. 27, Dayton police responded to complaints of gunfire in the area of Anna Street and Second Street. Eyewitnesses said Long was firing a rifle towards a person near Anna Street. Officers also found shell casings in the area, court documents said.

Soon after, officers arrested Long at his home nearby. While executing a search warrant, police found 12 firearms inside Long’s home, including a stolen firearm and a rifle with a large-capacity magazine. Long has six prior felony charges involving drugs, guns or violence.
