It is illegal for any person to bring to the state capital complex any weapon, according to a statute provided by Messina.
“Any person who violates this subsection is guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be fined not less than $100 or confined in jail not more than six months, or both,” the statute says.
