A convicted killer is accused of kidnapping his girlfriend and fatally shooting her 8-week-old puppy early this year.

Anthony D. Allen’s girlfriend came home Jan. 4 and found him sitting in a parked car with a firearm. When the woman got in the car, Allen reportedly forced her at gunpoint to drive around and threatened to kill her. They eventually returned home. When the woman went inside the restroom Allen allegedly shot at her, then grabbed her 8-week-old pit bull puppy and shot it in the head on the porch before going back inside and shooting again at the woman, according to the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office.

He is being held on $500,000 bond in the Montgomery County Jail and will be arraigned Thursday.

He previously was convicted of murder in 1976 and was sentenced to 15 years-to-life in prison. He was convicted of felony theft in 2005, and in 2007, he was convicted of possession of cocaine, according to the prosecutor’s office.
