Police are investigating a deadly shooting Monday evening at the Eagle Ridge Apartments.

Crews were called around 5:45 p.m. to the apartment complex in the 5000 block of Northcrest Drive in Dayton.

The gunshot victim, who died in the parking lot, was identified Tuesday as 26-year-old Chendo L. Buford of Dayton by Montgomery County Coroner Dr. Kent Harshbarger.

Emergency calls to 911 that were released Tuesday night reveal a chaotic scene, with repeated requests for an ambulance as crews were on the way as yelling and crying could be heard in the background of at least two of the calls. One caller described hearing four or five gunshots, and another said there was a large crowd of people gathered around the victim.

Memorials of balloons, candles and flowers were placed Tuesday outside the complex.

No suspect information has been released or an arrest made.
