Deputies: Victim uncooperative in Napoleon’s shooting

UPDATE @ 11 p.m.

Two armed men shot at two men and a woman around 6:30 p.m. as they left Napoleon’s, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

No one was struck, by gunfire, but one man was hit by bullet fragmentation, according to deputies.

Also, five vehicles in the parking lot were hit by gunfire.

Deputies said the case is considered closed because the victim was not cooperative.

UPDATE @ 8:15 p.m.

A woman who lives in the area said she rushed to Napoleon’s Palace after her daughter told here there had been a shooting.

“I found out it was a friend of ours that got shot,” said Jackie Mays Atkinson. “All she said is somebody opened fire. … They don’t know who it was or why.”

The shooting happened outside the bar, and the victim went inside for help.

“He ran in and she took her belt off and tied his leg off,” she said of her daughter.

Atkinson said she wasn’t sure where the man was shot, and said she was headed to the hospital.

She described the shooting at an isolated incident.

“This does not happen up in Napoleon’s,” she said. “We do not have problems like this.”

Napoleon’s Palace has had incidents of violence before. In July 2015, a man was shot and killed in a car outside the restaurant.

One person with an apparent gunshot wound was being taken to a local hospital, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. Also, the shooter may have had his face covered by a bandanna, according to reports.

Police in surrounding communities are on the lookout for a gray Chrysler 300 that may have been involved in the shooting at Napoleon’s Palace.

A shooting was reported this evening at Napoleon’s Palace.

At least one person was shot around 6:30 p.m. at the bar at 4150 Germantown Pike. According to initial reports, the suspects were two men dressed in black with multiple weapons who left in a gray Chrysler 300.
