Eaton attorney pleads guilty of theft from clients

The Eaton attorney accused of theft from clients and falsification pleaded no contest Wednesday in Preble County Common Pleas Court.

After the plea, Judge Neal Bronson found James W. Thomas, Jr. guilty and ordered him to have no contact with the victims.

In the case, Thomas, who has a law office in Eaton, admitted stealing $207,000 from a total of four victims from 2007 to 2013.

Thomas is out of jail and is expected in court June 17 for sentencing. He's facing up to 9 years in prison and thousands of dollars in fines.
