A dog that is more than 30 pounds underweight is one of four dogs confiscated recently from a Dayton residence.

Bo is housed at the Montgomery County Animal Resource Center, where he is one of 196 animals taken into the shelter since July 20, the shelter posted today on its Facebook page, along with several photos of the emaciated dog. “This is what cruelty and neglect looks like,” the ARC posted.

The dog has severe heart worms and a host of other medical problems that will require up to six months of treatment and rehabilitation. “Bo is part of an ongoing case so he is NOT available for adoption now or in the foreseeable future. Please do not call or email. His additional care and treatment will be handled through the Tiny Tim Fund,” ARC posted.

His owners have opted to not relinquish their four dogs so the shelter can find them homes, according to the social media post.

The animals brought in since July 20 include a half-dozen new animal cruelty cases. To help free space in the shelter, the ARC is offering $10 cat adoptions.
