Fairborn motorist fatally strikes Centerville man in Wilmington

A Centerville man was killed after being struck by a Fairborn motorist in Wilmington just before 7 a.m. Thursday, officials said.

Douglas Dodge, 55, was walking back to his car after having an altercation with another motorist when he was struck and killed on state Route 73, near mile post 11, the Wilmington Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.

The motorist, Glenn Gage of Fairborn, was driving east on Route 73 when the accident occurred, the patrol said. Gage was not involved in the altercation, officials said.

Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be contributing factors in the accident, and it remains under investigation, the patrol said.

The Highway Patrol is asking that anyone who witnessed the accident and has additional information to call (937) 382-2551.
