UPDATE: (Nov. 6), 5:30 p.m.:

A Dayton father accused of child endangering made his first appearance in court today.

Terry Noble, 24 was arraigned in Montgomery County Court with bond set at $250,000.

Noble was also appointed a public defender with his next court date scheduled for Nov. 13.

Update (Nov. 4), 6:40 p.m.:

A 24-year-old father accused of hurting his 5-month-old daughter may have assaulted the baby previously, resulting in more than 15 broken bones, police said Tuesday.

Terry Noble was booked in the Montgomery County Jail Monday night on a charge of child endangering, a second-degree felony, according to jail records. He was apprehended by officers and members of the SOFAST task force on Church Street on the city’s east side. Noble ran from officers and hopped over several fences before he was taken into custody, police said.

Police had been looking for him since Oct. 29 when the baby’s mother returned to her Caliph Court apartment and noticed injuries to the girl’s ribs as well as bruising on her face and wrist. The woman told officers she fought with Noble about the injuries and then he left.

Doctors at Dayton Children’s Medical Center determined the baby had a broken rib and injuries to her right clavicle. Further examination, however, revealed the infant had at least 15 other healing breaks or fractures, said Lt. Wendy Stiver of the Dayton Police Department.

“The injuries appear to have occurred over a period of time, so this was not a single incident. This appeared to be something that was ongoing,” she said.

Neighbors told officers they could hear Noble yelling at the child and the baby crying during the latest incident, according to a police report.

Detectives are still investigating and will present evidence to the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office to see if additional charges should be filed. Noble is scheduled to be arraigned in court Wednesday afternoon.
