INITIAL REPORT (4/8)

A Fairborn city schools employee is facing a sex charge for an incident that occurred in March at Fairborn High School, we learned Friday.

Jeffrey L. Whited, 60, of Fairborn, is charged with sexual imposition, a third-degree misdemeanor, according to Fairborn Municipal Court records. Fairborn court records indicate there are a total of three victims, although he’s been charged for a crime against one. It wasn’t clear Friday if he will be charged with crimes against the other two victims.

Court documents indicate Whited is accused in a March 2 incident at the high school involving a female student during in-school suspension. Whited is employed as the in-school suspension supervisor, the district confirmed.

Fairborn police were notified March 22, after the district was made aware of the incident on March 21 by Children Services. Witnesses statements were taken from four students.

A Fairborn police report says Whited hugged the student and placed his hands on the sides of her breasts. He’s also accused of grabbing the student’s waist.

On March 29, Whited reported to the police department with his attorney for an interview. He said he didn’t recall doing anything inappropriate.

Whited is accused of giving a second female student a letter in the hallway, recommending an out-of-school suspension, but on the other side of the note wrote, “Gotcha.” Then they hugged and he reportedly placed his hands on the sides of her breasts, according to court documents.

The high school principal confirmed to police on March 22 that Whited had since been put on administrative leave, according to a court document.

A third female student told police she would get hugged four to five times a day by Whited as she passed his classroom. He would grab her hand and pull her in, according to court records. The student said it happened so often she started taking a different route to get to her classes.

Whited’s attorney April 8 submitted a plea of not guilty on his behalf. He remains out on his own recognizance.
