Four inmates charged, three with assaulting prison staff

Guards, nurse at prisons in Warren County alleged victims

Three inmates at the two state prisons in Warren County are facing new felony charges alleging violent acts against the guards or other staff.

None relates to attacks that sent as many as seven guards for hospital treatment last month.

Robert E. Marsh, Jr. , 40, was indicted on an assault charge alleging he “kicked a nurse at the infirmary” at Warren Correctional Institution on Sept. 14. Marsh is already serving an 11-year term for rape in Cuyahoga County.

Eric W. Brick, 34, is charged with assault for allegedly punching a corrections officer, also on Dec. 2 at Warren Correctional. He is serving six years for aggravated robbery in Hamilton County.

In addition, Lamar A. Lenoir, 44, is alleged to have “struck a corrections officer multiple times” on Oct. 25 at Lebanon Correctional Institution, the other prison off Ohio 63, west of Lebanon.

Lenoir is serving 15 years to life in prison for murder, abduction and drug trafficking in Montgomery County.

Also, Thomas Daron, 27, is charged with possession of a deadly weapon, a “7 ½ inch shank” on Dec. 2 at Warren Correctional. Daron’s booking photo and existing prison record were not immediately available.

Today, Warren County Prosecutor David Fornshell said the Dec. 13 incident at Warren Correctional remained under investigation.

Because they are already in prison, Fornshell said there was less urgency in bringing the new charges.
