Gunmen rob 2 Dollar General stores in Dayton

Police are searching for suspects from another armed robbery tonight at a Dollar General store in Dayton.

Two men, one with a handgun, just before 7:30 p.m. robbed Dollar General, 2312 Main St. A K-9 was called to track the suspects, but was not able to find them.

They were described as males wearing dark clothing. One had a blue hooded sweatshirt and the one with the gun had a black hoodie with a white mask over his face, according to police.

We’re working to find out from police whether they believe the robbery is connected to an armed robbery on Friday evening of another Dollar General store at 888 S. Gettysburg Ave.

Two males with guns on Friday robbed the Dollar General, 888 S. Gettysburg Ave.

The robbers entered the store at 6:31 p.m. and brandished firearms, demanding money from customers as well as the cashiers, according to the Dayton police report.

The store’s manager was in the office at the time of the robbery. He was watching security video that was recorded during an earlier incident and did not realize the robbery was happening, according to the report.

The robbers ran away after getting an estimated $366, according to the report.

No one was injured in the incident.
