Yellow tape surrounded an insurance business Tuesday afternoon and Kettering police detectives were seen removing boxes as part of a death investigation.

Police were called around 12:30 p.m. to the Barton Wilson insurance agency, 2529 Wilmington Pike in Kettering.

“It’s a suspicious death of a male,” Kettering police Lt. Lee Sanders said.

Sanders said an acquaintance went inside the business, which was unlocked, and found the man deceased and called authorities.

“There was some sign of trauma,” Sanders said, but he would not elaborate further because it remains under investigation.

The identity of the man is known, but police are not releasing it because they are working to notify family. Sanders also did not say whether the man worked at the insurance agency.

The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office is expected to perform an autopsy Wednesday morning, the lieutenant said.
