He noticed a silver or blue van behind him, whose driver apparently was upset he was slowing down, according to a Dayton police report. The driver pulled up next to him on the passenger side and fired a gun at him, then exited at Edwin C. Moses Boulevard, the report stated.
The victim kept driving until he arrived at his friend’s house, where he said he thought he had been shot.
His friend said he could see metal above his right ear, and drove the victim to the Good Samaritan North ER in Englewood. From there, he was transferred to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, where he is expected to recover.

Police reported the passenger window and front windshield were shattered, and that there were three small holes in the passenger side door of the victim’s truck.
The victim did not see the driver, but motorists called 911 to report the incident.
According to one caller, a Chevy truck and light blue Honda minivan were “having a road rage issue.” The caller also reported he heard popping sounds like gunshots.

When police checked both sides of the interstate, they did not find anything but later were informed of the patient with a gunshot.
