Soloman Smith III, 59, was indicted today for robbery and is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court.
Deputies were called the morning of May 7 to the store, 5800 N. Main St. in Harrison Twp., after an employee called 911.
“(He came) flying from the door with a mask over his face,” the caller stated in the 911 call obtained by this news outlet. “(He) snatched me up and said ‘Come on, you’re going with me. I need all your money.’”
The employee said two customers inside the store pulled the robber off him, thwarting the robbery.
“Luckily I had two regular customers in there. (They) got him off me, slammed him to the ground, and then he took off running,” the employee said in the call.
Smith remains in the Montgomery County Jail, where he’s been held since his May 7 arrest by Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies.
