Man sentenced in drug-related, 'execution' killing

DAYTON - Gudonavon Taylor received a life term in prison and won’t be eligible for parole until he serves 41 years of it, according to the terms of his sentence April 6 in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court.

Taylor, of Huber Heights, was found guilty March 26 on all charges in the 2007 slaying of 25-year-old Jerod Bryson. Prosecutors said Taylor “executed” Bryson, his friend and partner in drug selling, because of a money dispute.

Taylor was indicted at the age of 17 on three counts of murder, two counts of felonious assault and one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm. Bryson, 25, also known as Jerod Wynn, had convictions for aggravated robbery and drug possession (crack cocaine). Taylor was arrested weeks after the slaying while attending night class at Wayne High School.
