Samuel White, convicted earlier this month of murdering acquaintance Bryan Coatney in 2012, has been sentenced to 18 years to life in prison.

White, 27, gunned down Coatney in the doorway of his home at 231 E. Parkwood Drive in Dayton on April 21, 2012. The two had ongoing arguments because White was dating Coatney's ex-girlfriend, according to investigators.

He was convicted of two counts each of murder and felonious assault, but all were merged into a single count for sentencing. White was sentenced to 15 years to life, and the sentence included a mandatory firearm specification of three additional years.

The court credited White with 486 days of jail time served.

He was also ordered to pay $1,854.31 in extradition and court costs.
