Man slashed, robbed after ‘prostitution transaction’

UPDATE @ 11:30 a.m.

A 45-year-old Dayton man was stabbed with a box cutter during a robbery early today.

The man was cut around 2 a.m. in the 2900 block of East Third Street by three men who stole $200 after he drove a woman he met at a bar to a nearby duplex, according to a Dayton police report.

The victim told police he met a woman at a bar in the 3000 block of East Third Street, and that after they spoke for 15 to 20 minutes she agreed to go home with him. The woman then said she needed to get something at her house. When she went inside, three men came out of the duplex. The victim told police that one of them cut him, grabbed his car keys and took his wallet, then took out the $200 inside and tossed back his keys and wallet, the report stated.

The victim returned to the bar area, but did not call for help until just after 3 a.m. According to the police report, he had a 6-inch cut on the left side of his back. He refused to be taken to a local hospital even though medics said it would require stitches. He did not explain why he waited more than an hour to call for police and medics, but “reluctantly admitted to officers that he and (the woman) had agreed to a prostitution transaction,” the report stated.

No arrests have been made, and police did not find the suspects in the area.
