Wanted man facing aggravated assault charges in Dayton shooting

A Dayton man wanted in connection to a shooting on Darst Avenue is aggravated assault and discharge of a firearm charges, according to court records.

Shaquille Phillip Shackleford, 27, was charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of discharge of a firearm, according to Dayton Municipal Court records.

On Tuesday, Dayton police confirmed that Shackleford was wanted in connection with a shooting on Darst Avenue around 8:20 p.m. Monday.

Once on the scene, officers found a man who had been shot multiple times, according to Dayton Municipal Court records.

The victim’s 11-year-old son reportedly witnessed the incident.

Shackleford, who was identified as a suspect and the victim’s relative, fled the scene in a dark blue Chevrolet Suburban, according to court records.

On Tuesday, crews found a matching vehicle at an undisclosed location and called Dayton SWAT, Violent Offenders detectives and Adult Parole Authority team members surrounded a home and ordered the occupants to come out.

Shackleford’s girlfriend and her three children came out, but Shackleford was not found at the scene, according to court records.

The Adult Parole Authority also checked a Dearborn Avenue home for the suspect, but did not locate him.

Shackleford is also a suspect in a recent Moraine shooting, but court records did not give further details.
