Miamisburg man found guilty of sexual abuse involving 4 girls

A Miamisburg man accused of sexually abusing four girls was found guilty of more than 20 charges, including rape of a victim younger than 10, Friday.

Scott Pate, 55, was convicted of gross sexual imposition, disseminating matter harmful to juveniles and unlawful sexual conduct with a minor among rape charges, according to Montgomery County Common Pleas Court records.

He was found not guilty of one count of gross sexual imposition.

A sentencing date has not been scheduled yet.

The trial for Pate started Monday with the jury going into deliberation Friday morning.

A verdict was reached Friday evening, according to a court official.

Last March, a 7-year-old girl reportedly told her parent that Pate sexually assaulted her and two other girls for about three years.

“The victim also disclosed that the defendant showed the girl adult pornography,” prosecutors said.

Pate was initially indicted on 23 felony charges in April before four charges were added in May after he was accused of abusing a fourth victim.
