4 nabbed in Shelby County drug raid

A Dayton man and two Sidney residents were nabbed this afternoon in a SWAT-related drug bust in Sidney.

Tactical officers from Sidney and Piqua police departments about 4:30 p.m. secured a home so it could be searched in the 400 block of North Miami Avenue in Sidney.

Sidney police investigators seized a large quantity of heroin, methamphetamine, cash, capsules, syringes and other drug paraphernalia, according to Sidney police.

Four people were arrested and were booked into the Shelby County Jail, including: David T. Copeland, 26, and Alisha R. Croft, 29, who lived in the home that was searched in Sidney; Michael. A. Lewis Jr., 35, address unknown; and Trinton W. Woods, 28, of Dayton.

Copeland and Croft were each booked on suspicion of drug possession and permitting drug abuse; Lewis was booked on suspicion of drug trafficking and tampering with evidence; and Woods was booked on suspicion of complicity, according to police.

The drug raid and arrests came in part from tips from concerned citizens, police said. Anyone with information about drug activity is urged to call Sidney police at 937-498-8777.
